While there are many home healthcare companies in New Jersey, Generations was established with one objective:
Our purpose is to create relationships based on trust, starting with the recognition that entrusting us with a loved one’s care is the highest demonstration of confidence a client can extend. With this in mind, we studied our industry carefully, and have drawn 6 conclusions that benefit you and your loved ones.
How many times have you heard a company make this claim, only to come up short in practice. At Generations we not only say it we mean it. For Generations, we know that to attract top certified home health aides, we need to reward and recognize them for their exceptional skills. We are dedicated to hiring the most compassionate and experienced CHHAs available. We treat them with the respect and dignity they deserve. We pay at the upper end of market scales, provide better benefits, and offer meaningful training and advancement opportunities. We invest upfront in an extensive battery of assessments, tests and checks on our CHHA applicants, from drug and health screenings, to reference checks by recognized experts. At Generations we believe that even if our profit margins are slightly lower than those of our competitors, over time our quality, service and reputation will serve us well.
Generations is the antidote to large, impersonal, national home healthcare companies and franchises. We recognize that home healthcare is a very personal, customized service industry like no other - and that there is huge demand for service that is truly caring and localized. Generations focuses on a market we know intimately – in a place where we have community, business and family ties. This focus is an important factor in our delivery of unprecedented levels of customized, compassionate, local service.
Generations distinguishes itself in providing professional service from the top down. On the business side, we are owned and operated by senior executives with decades of experience. On the caregiving side, we are guided by highly experienced Nursing Directors and staff. This unique blend of business expertise and professional care is where Generations excels and truly distinguishes itself from all others. Our professionalism at all levels is reflected in the unparalleled service and expertise of those who interact, with and care for, your loved ones. And that’s what peace of mind is all about.
Unlike other home healthcare companies who are locked in 1980’s scheduling and reporting methods, Generations employs state-of-the-art technology to enhance the lives of our clients, our CHHA’s and our home office staff. Cutting-edge scheduling software enables efficient and effective matching of a CHHAs’ capabilities with your needs and requirements. Special telephone-based software enables us to know immediately that the CHHA has reported on time for his/her assigned duty, and provides real-time accurate reporting of hours and activities. In this, and so many other ways, Generations is ahead of its time, and we invite you to see the technology at work in our Warren office.
In New Jersey, a CHHA must work through a licensed health care service agency under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. If you hire a “chore worker” or “companion” there are strict limitations on what such unlicensed persons can and can’t do for a client, including bathing and toileting. Also, if you employ workers directly, you are saddled with compliance with a myriad of laws, regulations and reporting. At Generations, we cover all of this for you. Our CHHAs are our employees, so we carry the full burden and cost of providing statutory benefits (like workers compensation and unemployment insurance), fringe benefits (like paid time off), and tax withholding (like FICA and income taxes). We lift the burden of all the legal, employment-related concerns…so you don’t have to.
Placing the CHHA is just the beginning of our relationship. A Generations nurse will visit periodically to check in with your loved one—and the CHHA—to make certain everything is working well and to ensure the plan of care is working as it should. In addition, we keep in touch with the primary caregiver regularly to make certain you’re informed and involved and reassured. When our relationship starts, we regard it as our ongoing privilege to help care for your loved one.
